Thirty-two African teams will continue with their quest to be amongst the 15 teams that will join host Morocco at next year’s CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will gain some speed this weekend with all teams scheduled to play their third group matches. With two of the six group games already played, former champions like Nigeria and Egypt are in danger of not qualifying for next year’s showpiece in Morocco and will look to turn things around before it’s too late.

Matchday Two of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League group stage was completed on Wednesday night as the best sides in Europe continued their journey towards being crowned as the ultimate champions on the continent. While a number of African stars dominated the headlines after the first round of matches by banging in spectacular goals, the second round did not produce the same fireworks.

The 2014/15 UEFA Champions League is currently underway and a number of African soccer stars have already started to shine for their respective teams. Algerian midfielder Yacine Brahimi (Porto) and Ivorian forward Gervinho (Roma) are currently topping the scoring charts and they are amongst a number of African players who aspire to be part of this year’s final, set to take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
