Kolo Toure Set For Liverpool Contract Renewal

Liverpool’s Ivorian defender Kolo Toure has revealed that he is in talks with his Merseyside club to extend his contract and remain attached to the English Premier League side.

His current deal at the club expires in a few weeks, and he is looking to extend so that he can be sure of his future at the Reds.

Speaking to reporters recently, he mentioned that details are still being nailed down, but that talks are under way and he is pleased that he will continue his long career in the Premier League once the deal is done.

“I think the situation will be resolved soon,” he told the media, according to Goal. “We are talking. There are few things more but we will see. “Liverpool is a great club for me to stay at. Liverpool is going to be massive,” Toure said.

“I love Premier League football and I played all my years here and if I can finish here [at Liverpool] it would be great,” he added.

“I play for Liverpool right now and I am very happy and if it was to carry on, I’d be more than happy.”

Yaya Toure’s brother is a veteran of the English top flight, having played for Arsenal and Manchester City before joining Liverpool in 2013.

He retired for the Cote D’Ivoire national team following a successful title victory at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). He appeared 118 times for the Elephants before his retirement in February.
