Uganda Is Ready To ‘Get Out There,’ Expand Tourism Budget

“We believe that our infrastructure is fair enough now,” Edwin Muzahura, Uganda tourism board spokesman told CCTV Africa. “We have connectivity by over 23 international airlines to come to Uganda on a daily basis. We believe that our product is attractive enough — so now it’s time for us to step out there.”

According to the report and other tourism operators, getting out there entails launching effecting regional and international marketing campaigns.

The price of promoting Uganda’s offerings is expensive, especially when neighboring countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo push tourists away while Kenya and Tanzania have more money to spend on marketing. Foreign tourism revenue keeps Uganda afloat with the highest number of travelers coming from Germany, CCTV Africa noted.
