Mozambique Expects 8% Growth, Driven By Minerals

Mozambique actually has one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. Rich in minerals, Mozambique’s economy is expected to grow by about 8 percent this year and in 2015 as well. And it could reach higher growth rates if its railways to export coal were improved, central bank governor Ernesto Gove said, reports iOL.

Mozambique has some of the largest untapped coal reserves, but infrastructure troubles have become a major challenge for mining firms. If these obstacles were fixed, says Gove, the economy could grow even more.
