Cape Verde International Trade Fair Draws Record Number Of Visitors

From Asemana

Some 8,000 visitors and ninety businesses and entities from Cape Verde, Italy, Brazil and Portugal were present at the 17th edition of the Cape Verde International Trade Fair (FIC), which came to a close on November 24, on the island of São Vicente. Among foreign participants, Portugal had the largest number of businesses exhibiting their products – an expressive 27. The next edition of the FIC will be held next November in the city of Praia.

These figures lead organizers to believe in the benefits that such business gatherings bring to the Cape Verdean economy. They also reveal the need to improve the performance and logistics of future editions. “This year’s fair was a record-breaker in terms of previous editions. There is room for improvement and we are hoping for suggestions to perfect our performance in upcoming editions,” said Luís Cardoso, the FIC chief executive officer.

During the closing ceremony, protocols were signed with state real-estate company FIC, the Windward Islands Chamber of Commerce and the Oasis Hotel Group.
