Tourists seeking an animal encounter can go diving with seals in Plettenberg Bay. Offshore Adventures offers a boat excursion to a marine protected area adjacent to Robberg Nature Reserve. Visitors can jump into the water and swim with the seals — often babies, and often playful. Derik of Net News videotaped the experience. Before you go though, definitely read the reviews at TripAdvisor. Here’s what one recent visitor said after going on this excursion: “You get super close to the seals. Sometimes when you hold still, they even gently touch you with their nose.” Baby Cape fur seals are adorable, but the waters are home to other species. Not all the reviews are glowing.
