Such urban development requires improved mass transport and freight-moving systems to support the population growth. Some urban planners even argue that mass transport networks are central to cities’ ability to control the expansion and better manage property development, while reducing travel times and boosting land values.

    Ethiopia has invited foreign companies to invest in its housing project, the country’s urban development and housing construction minister told Ethiopian News Agency. government estimates 65,000 low-cost houses are currently under construction in the capital Addis Ababa. It plans to build a total of 960,000 houses in the next 10 years by engaging local and foreign real-estate developers.
