Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah is on the wishlist of Spanish La Liga club Valencia, and it seems that he could soon leave his Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes to join the side that play home matches at the Mestalla Stadium. Well known agent Jorge Mendes represents the 20-year-old Ghanaian talent, and is interested in finding his client a spot at a top club in one of Europe’s top leagues, with Valencia fitting the bill.

South African Kevin Anderson ended a good Wimbledon run with a fourth round exit against world number one Novak Djokovic on Tuesday, with the 14th seed pushing his illustrious opponent to five sets, having won the first two in stunning fashion. Eventually the experience and talent of Djokovic won the day, with the player taking the five-setter 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 7-5.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan seems to be set for a move to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG from current side Al Ain. The player is expected in China on Wednesday to finalise the deal which will see him raise his weekly pay to around $250,000, according to some reports.

Stephen Keshi, coach of the Nigeria national team has had his contract terminated, and will no longer be in charge of the Super Eagles. The decision was taken by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) following reports that the former Mali and Togo coach had applied for the vacant spot at the head of the Cote D’Ivoire national team.

The 2-metre tall Johannesburg born serve master won the match in straight sets 6-4, 7-6, 6-3.

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has given Viola fans some good news, as he has confirmed that a deal for Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is almost complete. The talented attacker has been on loan at the Florence-based club from English Premier League champions Chelsea since January. A disappointing season with the Rossoneri has seen the Ghanaian kept on the fringes of the struggling club, making only 16 appearances, and despite the fact that his contract still had a year left on it, the San Siro club decided that a mutual split was in order.

South African tennis player Kevin Anderson reached the third round at Wimbledon on Wednesday after defeating Turkey’s Ilhan in second round action. The 28-year-old Turkish number one fell to the 14th seeded South African, but it was not an easy passage for Anderson, as he eventually triumphed 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4, but not before fighting off an excellent challenge from his opponent.
