Fiorentina Sporting Director Confirms Salah Deal

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has given Viola fans some good news, as he has confirmed that a deal for Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is almost complete.

The talented attacker has been on loan at the Florence-based club from English Premier League champions Chelsea since January. He made an immediate impact on the Italian side’s efforts in Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Europa League.

In the Italian top flight Salah scored six strikes in 16 appearances, while setting up three goals for his team-mates. In another two cup games he contributed a further two goals.

The 23-year-old’s loan deal came to an end with the conclusion of the season, but Fiorentina have made their intentions clear in terms of their aim to bring Salah back to Florence from London, and now it seems that they are on the verge sealing a deal, according to their sporting director.

“I tell the fans that the club has made an insane offer to Salah. If any player, not just Salah, turned down a proposal like that, then it’s best he doesn’t stay at Fiorentina,” Prade said, according to Nilesports.

“However, Salah will accept and sign tonight. He made a huge impact with us, so it’s normal that he should receive calls from elsewhere,” he added.

Italian rivals Inter Milan have been making moves to try and steal the player from under the Viola’s nose, bypassing Fiorentina’s option to extend Salah’s loan agreement with a permanent deal at the Nerazzurri, but the Egyptian now seems destined for a return to Florence.
