Ghana’s Sulley Muntari Linked To Everton

Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari has been linked to a possible transfer from current club AC Milan to English Premier League side Everton.

His Serie A team look likely to offload him during the off-season, and according to reports in Italy the player and his representation are considering the blue half of Merseyside as a viable option.

Whether Everton will go ahead with the proposed deal is not yet confirmed, as there are concerns that 30-year-old Muntari’s best football may be behind him.

A disappointing season with the Rossoneri has seen the Ghanaian kept on the fringes of the struggling club, and despite the fact that his current contract still has a year left on it, an imminent exit from the San Siro seems destined for the former Sunderland and Inter Milan midfielder.

He has been linked with potential transfers to West Ham, Everton and Hull City of late, while the New York Red Bulls have also shown serious interest.

Muntari previously played in the English top flight for Portsmouth between 2007 and 2008, while 2011 saw him return on loan at Sunderland. His previous experience in the EPL bodes well for him, and it is likely that his ideal next adventure would take him back to the Premier League.

The Everton possibility is an interesting option for the player, who is often dogged by controversy, especially at national team level, where he was sent home from the 2014 FIFA World Cup along with Kevin-Prince Boateng due to misbehaviour in camp.
