Yaya Toure Will Remain At Manchester City – Agent

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has changed his tune concerning the likelihood of his client leaving Manchester City during the transfer window.

A few weeks ago the player’s representative made it known that his Ivorian client was almost completely certain to leave his English Premier League club, telling Sky Sports News that Toure is the subject of strong interest from three major clubs, one of which would likely secure his signature in the coming months.

“It’s 90% certain he’ll leave Manchester City this summer. Nothing has been decided – we are waiting until the end of the season,” he told Sky Sports.

Following the end of the English top flight, the agent has now spun the narrative to suggest that Toure will stay with The Citizens, as he revealed to SkySports that the club told him that the Cote D’Ivoire captain was “too important to let go”.

Toure has been at the club since 2010, and has played a crucial part in their two EPL titles in 2012 and 2014. His time at Man City has seen him perform at a very high level, dominating in midfield and often contributing in attack with a well-timed strike to win games for the club.

The Ivorian star player’s current contract runs until 2017. The four-time and current African Player of the Year was the subject of strong interest from Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan recently.

Inter coach Roberto Mancini secured Toure’s transfer to The Citizens from Barcelona in 2010, and it seems that he would like to have the midfielder back in his side.

This sentiment is echoed by new Nerazzurri owner, Erick Tohir, who is a fan of the player and has pledged to do what he can to bring Toure to Milan.

“It’s true, we want Toure,” Thohir said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “How likely? I do not know, but it is certain that we will do everything to get him.”

The most recent statement from his agent contradicts a possible deal, and it now seems that Toure is set to remain as his English club next season.
