Juventus Step Up Baba Rahman Interest

Italian Serie A champions Juventus are making their interest in Ghana’s Baba Rahman known, sending their sporting director to the defender’s German club in order to discuss possibilities.

The Bianconeri have asked sporting director Fabio Paratici to travel to Germany in order to address Rahman’s club Augsburg, and find out about his availability.

Juve will not have an easy time of securing his services, however, as the defender has attracted serious interest from English Premier League champions Chelsea, while Real Madrid and Roma have also displayed an interest in the Ghanaian.

The 21-year-old has been one of the top performers at his German club, and it seems an inevitable end to his time at the Fuggerstadter’s is around the corner, as a number of teams around Europe have been monitoring his progress and keeping in contact with the players agent and his club.

Juventus are now stepping this interest up with a personal visit to the club through Paratici.

Juventus recently welcomed Ghana team-mate Kwadwo Asamoah back from injury, but they would like to find some backup for the left wing and wing-back positions. Rahman would fit that portfolio well and add an element of youth to the backline or the midfield, as his versatility allows him to play in various positions.

The talented Black Stars defender was a pillar of strength at left back for Ghana during their campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea at the beginning of the year, where the side ended as runners up to eventual winners Cote D’Ivoire.
