Jordon Ibe On The Verge Of New Liverpool Deal

Jordon Ibe On The Verge Of New Liverpool Deal

English-born Nigerian footballer Jordon Ibe is expected to extend his current Liverpool stay with a new five-year deal before the English Premier League season comes to a close.

Reports in The Sun suggest that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have been monitoring the winger, but the impending extension will quiet those rumours.

Speaking to The Mirror, 19-year-old Ibe explained that his step-father acts as his agent, rather than a typical model of player management.

“I don’t believe I need one [an agent] – I think my parents can do the job and they are the best people to have around me,” Ibe said.

“My main concern has always been playing football and if I had a decision on a contract or something else off the pitch then I would always go to my parents for advice anyway. I would still do that even if I had an agent, so I don’t really see the point. If I need help, my parents will sort it out,” he added.

“My family will always be number one to me, and I trust them implicitly.”

Ibe has played 10 matches in the EPL during the current campaign, coming off the bench for four of those fixtures.
