Johannesburg Traffic Creates A Business Opportunity For Executive Chauffeurs

With over 2 million cars on the road per day, South Africa’s capital Johannesburg has one of the worst traffic gridlocks in the world. This has a bad effect on business executives seeking to get their work done at different location of the city every day.

Executive chauffeur services companies are now emerging to cater for this clientele that need to be working on the go instead of wasting three to four hours in one trip during peak hours driving themselves through heavy traffic across the city.

Some like serial entrepreneur Lebo Gunguluza, chairman of GEM Holdings, have chosen to hire an executive driver to take them from one meeting to the other so that they can put their hours to better use in between.

“I spent most of my time in the car,” Gunguluza told CCTV Africa. “I look after 32 companies, so there is no chance in the 24-hours that if I’m going to drive around that I’m going to cover all that I need to cover in a day,”
