El-Shenawy joins Ahly’s Walid Soliman on the sidelines ahead of Egypt’s friendly match against Equatorial Guinea.

Egypt and Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy will miss Thursday’s friendly game against Equatorial Guinea due to injury, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Tuesday.

“El-Shenawy is out of the training camp as he is suffering from a swollen lymph gland and will need to be rested for a few days. The technical staff have decided to call up ENPPI keeper Ali Lotfi as an alternative,” the EFA said on its official website.

El-Shenawy is the second player to leave the training camp, as Ahly winger Walid Soliman was also ruled out on Saturday after picking up a knee injury.
