What’s In The Future For Africa’s Green Economy?

While environmental issues vary across Africa’s countries, three challenges — food, water and power — are the most widespread, according to a CCTV Africa report. March 2-6, Egypt will hold the 15th African Ministerial conference on the Environment where leaders are discussing Africa’s environmental position as it relates to the international front.

“What the country can do in terms of transitioning into a green economy — with this potential, indeed we can harness what we have in terms of environmental assets,” Mounkaila Goumandakoye, UN Environmental Program regional director said.

Other official attendees noted that the conference served as an opportunity for countries to find a unified environmental stance that will make Africa more appealing to the international and aid community.
