Juventus Keen On Talented Ghana Youngster Bernard Mensah

Serie A giants Juventus are interested in a co-ownership deal for midfielder Bernard Mensah from Portuguese club Victoria Guimaraes.

The midfielder was a favourite for many to be included in the Ghana national team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), in which the Black Stars lost in the final to Cote D’Ivoire, but Mensah did not make the final cut and was forced to watch the tournament on television.

The youngster should not worry, however, as at 20 years of age, he still has the potential to play many tournaments for Ghana in the coming years. This is especially true as he is now attracting interest from bigger European clubs, including Juventus, according to SuperSport.

The Bianconeri seem to be keen to make a move for Mensah, but on condition that it is a co-ownership deal with fellow Italian top flight club Sassuolo.

This is in line with a typical strategy that the Turin side uses, to make sure that they have a stake in an up and coming talent while sending them on loan at a smaller Serie A or Serie B team in order for the youngster in question to gain experience and become accustom to the culture in Italy.

Reports suggest that a number of clubs are prepared to court the Ghanaian player, including the likes of Atalanta and Sampdoria in Italy, AS Monaco in France and Portuguese rivals FC Porto.
