Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah Begins Running Again In Two Weeks

Juventus utility man, Kwadwo Asamoah, has been cleared to return to training following his knee injury that has kept him from kicking a football since late last year.

The Ghana national team stalwart was forced to miss the recently concluded 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea due to the injury, and the required surgery to correct his knee problem, which was a success.

The Black Stars went on to reach the final of the competition before losing to Cote D’Ivoire in a penalty shootout.

Asamoah had been one of the most important players for Juventus before his injury, playing a versatile role in the squad which included his ability to adapt to the left back and midfield positions.

Juventus announced an update to his condition, and the fact that the Ghanaian will be able to return to training soon, and begin running again in a couple of weeks.

A statement from the Turin club said, “Kwadwo Asamoah… returned to Barcelona yesterday for a check-up following his knee surgery in December. Dr. Ramon Cugat, who performed the operation, said he was extremely satisfied with the progress made by the midfielder and gave him the green light to start running again within the next two weeks.

The statement continued, “Further tests will be conducted in the next month to ascertain his exact return date.”

Bianconero coach Massimiliano Allegri will be pleased to hear about the positive progress of his player, as the season heads towards the business end, and the UEFA Champions League comes back into the picture for Juve.
