Africa’s contemporary artists arouse attention internationally thanks to innovative approaches to artistic expression. The work encompasses uniquely African socio-political realities, and museums, galleries and biennales worldwide can’t get enough of it.

Collectors vie for relatively accessibly priced work of African artists. Recently, intriguing blockbuster shows were held at London’s Tate Modern Gallery for Meschac Gaba’s solo exhibit and at The Brooklyn Museum exhibit, “Double Take: African Innovations.”
