Representatives from the Mississippi Development Authority will lead a delegation of Mississippi companies on a business development mission to South Africa from March 23-27. The trip is designed to connect Mississippi businesses that want to expand trade and create new business relationships with qualified buyers in the country. It will include stops in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

“The South African trade mission is a cost-effective opportunity for Mississippi businesses interested in developing or expanding trade in the country to make connections with prospective buyers and generate new investment through international trade,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “This region of South Africa is Mississippi’s top export location in Africa, and it is a logical gateway for companies looking to do business in that market. I encourage businesses interested in export sales to make plans to join the Mississippi team on this important trip.”

MDA works with qualified potential buyers, agents, distributors and joint venture partners from South Africa prior to meeting with members of the state delegation. MDA also works with Mississippi firms before, during and after the trip to help them best capitalize on the opportunities realized as a result of participation.
