Nigeria Joins G8 Food Security and Nutrition Alliance

Nigeria has become the seventh member of the G8 New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition.

The country, therefore, joins six fellow African countries Ghana, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Nigeria’s Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Akinwumi Adesina made the announcement at the G8 Food Security and Nutrition events this weekend.

As a new member of the Alliance, Nigeria will seek to leverage private-sector investment and policy reform to reinforce the country’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda.
