Rwanda Seeks To Diversify Tourism Beyond Gorilla Watching

Rwanda must improve the way it sells tourism and concentrate on attracting more business meetings, incentives, congresses and events, commonly known as “Mice,” the country’s tourism director said.

Bird watching, mountain gorilla viewing and Rwanda’s national parks are its main tourist assets, said Rica Rwigamba, head of tourism and conservation at Rwanda Development Board.

She spoke at the Eighth Atlas Meeting hosted by Rwanda Tourism College, attended by delegates from 30 countries.
