Nigeria Slashes Prices Of New Cars

Under a proposal concerning vehicle acquisition finance in Nigeria, people will be able to buy in credit, new cars assembled in the country. This comes after a major increase in the import duty of used cars from 35 to 70 percent by the government in order to discourage importation of second hand cars and encourage Nigerians to purchase new cars assembled locally.

“A statement by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, . Olusegun Aganga said that government was currently discussing with local and international financial institutions on how to make the scheme achievable by making made in Nigeria cars affordable,” reports Star Africa.
