Mozambique Wants Investment From Angolan Companies

The Government of Mozambique is open for Angolan companies? investments in the sectors of hydrocarbons, said Tuesday in Luanda the eastern African minister of Mineral Resources, Esperança Bias.

Minister Esperança Bias who is in Angola on a working visit said that any Angolan company is welcome in Mozambique , particularly in the oil and gas sector.

“We are open for Angolan companies’ investments,” stressed the minister at the end of a meeting with the local minister of Oil, Botelho de Vasconcelos.

The visiting minister also informed that in Mozambique there is already a public company operating in the field of hydrocarbons and that the cooperation with Sonangol (Angolan state-owned hydrocarbons firm) in various sector is being successful.

According to her, Sonangol has set up partnerships and managed to get strengthened in the oil market, stressing that this is what is being sought for the Mozambican firm (NH). The Mozambican official added her visit is helping her learn about Angola’s management in the oil field that has associated with oil and gas.

Esperança Bias also informed that Mozambique has been producing gas in industrial amounts since 2004 and is sharing expertise on the sector with Angola.
