From Asemana

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles, Jean Paul Adam, will visit Cape Verde in the coming days to discuss cooperation between the two countries and prepare the visit by Cape Verdean President Jorge Carlos Fonseca to the Indian Ocean archipelago.

Cape Verdean Minister of Foreign Relations Jorge Borges has stressed that Cape Verde is very interested in resuming cooperation with the country, considering the similarities between the two archipelagos. “We should give great importance to these African island countries that have the same objective as we do, hence the reason for the enhancement of cooperation and diplomatic ties with Seychelles,” he explained.

This Tuesday, May 13, President Jorge Carlos Fonseca also called for closer ties to Seychelles. Fonseca, who will visit the country in June on the invitation of its president to participate in commemorations marking its Independence, which is celebrated on June 29, intends to take advantage of the trip to strengthen relations between the two island states.
