S. Africa Results Center Aims For Free, Fair, Transparent Elections

In just one week, South Africans go to the polls for national and regional elections.

The country’s Independent Electoral Commission on Wednesday launched a state-of-the-art national results center in Pretoria.

The technology was installed to make sure the election process is free, fair and transparent. All systems are in place, officials said.

The center is the nerve base of the election. Occupying 11,000 square meters, it has 450 computers, 800 electrical plugs, backup power and added cell phone capacity.

The center will house the election results.
