African Health Now: Why Health Aid Agencies Are Essential [Part 2 of 3]

Nana Eyeson-Akiwowo, founder of African Health Now sits down with AFKInsider to discuss her role in Africa’s health care landscape. Stemming from the outcome of her father’s run-in with a major health scare while on the continent, the organization flourished from a one-day health fair. In part two of the interview, Eyeson-Akiwowo talks about going into villages, garnering volunteers and the important contribution that NGOs make to African health sectors.

“NGO’s on the continent are extremely necessary. As a whole, there’s no way that the government can really facilitate and take care of the amount of people that need the healthcare. It’s not something that one entity can handle on its own,” she said.
