What You Don’t Know About Indego Africa, Rwandan Culture [Part 3 of 3]

Karen Yelick, COO & CFO of Indego Africa along with creative director Deirdre King introduce the non-profit organization and social enterprise which partners with women artisans in Rwanda. In the final part of our interview, Yelick and King discuss the future of Indego Africa, the organization’s theme song, and behind-the-scenes happenings that take place when business is put aside.

“They juggle a lot; very impressive how they can kind of pull it all together,” Yelick said of the Rwandan artisans who apart from business talks are often open to sharing personal and family stories.

“Indego’s vision moving forward is to scale our success,” she continued. “We really are at a very poignant moment in our history. As we move forward we want to ramp up sales even more, increase the number of artisans we’re working with, re-tool our education program and expand into another African country.”
