Omoyele Sowore on the ‘Big Blind Country’ [Part 3 of 3]

Omoyele Sowore, founder and publisher of Sahara Reporters recently visited AFKInsider‘s studio where he discussed moving on from grassroots activism to choosing a web platform to combat corruption. He also talked prevalent issues in Nigeria and creating a similar citizen journalist platform in other African countries. In the final part of the interview, Sowore elaborates aspects of corruption that most are unfamiliar with.

“So the major issue confronting Nigeria now is still corruption. Most times people think of corruption as wads of dollars of currency. But it’s more than that; it is something that has completely destroyed the political, the social, the cultural and economic life of Nigeria,” Sowore said.

“[Corruption] has spread in such a way that it has prevented Nigeria from becoming the giant of Nigeria that it’s supposed to be,” he said.
