China, India Pour Investments Into Mozambique — What Country is More Beneficial?

“Mozambique’s civil war ended in 1992,” BBC’s Vineet Khare said in a recent video report highlighting infrastructure successes and gaps in Mozambique. “A lot of investment is needed to get things moving at speed, and to get the money the country’s government has turned to foreign investors like India and China.”

While infrastructure and development are major areas that require progression, China and India are taking alternate approaches to pushing Mozambique forward. BBC’s video report — titled “As Mozambique’s economic star continues to rise which country should they choose India or China?” — questions whether the countries are rivals, one more beneficial to Mozambique than the other?
