School’s In Session: The Top Ten Business Schools In Africa

Education is key to starting and developing a successful career in business. And African Business Review recently compiled its list of the top ten business schools in Africa.

Topping the list was the University of Cape Town. “The UCT Graduate School of Business offers one of the most innovative Executive MBA courses in the world,” reports The African Business Review. UCT is home to the only full-time African MBA ranked in the top 100 by the Financial Times. The school focuses on emerging market business. It has been voted the Best Business School in Africa for three years straight.

In second place was the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria. This is a relatively new school, having been established in 2000.  It offers real-life experience. The school is partnered with leading companies.

In third is yet another South African school–the WITS University, SA. The Graduate School of Business Administration, also known as the Wits Business School opened in 1968. “The prime mission of the School is to establish and maintain excellence in scholarship in business management, through the promotion of research and teaching, in the various disciplines that fall under business management,” reports African Business Review. While it offers a range of certificate programs, the School is entirely postgraduate.

At the other end of the list was The American University in Cairo at NO. 10. It offers a solid liberal arts foundation and range of perograms.
