Nigerian Victor Moses Extends Contract With Chelsea

Nigerian winger Victor Moses has extended his contract with English Premier League club Chelsea until 2021.

The talented Super Eagles player has been an important part of coach Antonio Conte’s impressive team this season, with the Blues leading the EPL standings at the moment on 63 points, 10 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in second.

His efforts in attack and defence have been a point of praise for those analysing the success of the London club, and his performances have now earned him a new and improved contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for the next four seasons.

This season has been a revelation for the 26-year-old Nigerian, who spent the last few campaigns on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United, struggling to settle and give his best performance for any of the three.

Victory Moses has been fundamental this season

His regular appearances under Conte have seen him grow in confidence, setting up numerous goals and scoring four of his own in Chelsea colours.

In fact, he has started every single Premier League match since October 1.

Moses originally joined Chelsea from Wigan in August 2012 for a fee of $11 million, and he is now set to remain at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.

Moses reacted to his new contract with excitement, singling out Conte’s influence as a reason for his success on the pitch for Chelsea this season.

“I feel very excited,” Moses said, according to BBC.

“I’m enjoying my football and we have a good manager here that has given every single one of us confidence,” he added.

Born in Nigeria, the Super Eagles winger moved to England when he was 11 and soon impressed with his ability to score goals. Crystal Palace gave him his Premier League debut in 2007, before he moved on to Wigan three years later.
