Mohamed Salah’s Roma Hat-Trick Is Good News For Egypt

Egypt international striker Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick for Italian Serie A club Roma on the weekend against Bologna in a 3-0 victory over their opponents.

The win allowed the club from the capital to move into second place, four points behind Italian top-flight leaders Juventus.

Salah scored all three goals in the win, the day after he was named Roma’s player of the month for October, cementing his cult status among the Roman fans.

The hat-trick means that the 24-year-old is now closing in on last season’s 14 Serie A goals, as he is currently on an impressive eight in 12 appearances.

The striker is in excellent form at the moment, which is great news for the Egyptian national team.

Hat-trick hero Salah joins Egyptian national team

The Pharaohs are playing a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Ghana this coming weekend in Alexandria, and Salah has joined up with the team as they prepare for battle against the Black Stars.

The revival of the Egyptians under coach Hector Cuper has seen Salah become an important player in the group, contributing to a successful qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon this January, as well as a positive start to the campaign for qualification to Russia 2018.

The Pharaohs won their opening fixture in the third round group stage of African World Cup qualifying last month, thanks to Salah’s positive contribution once again.

The Pharaohs came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over hosts Congo in October. The Red Devils went ahead on 24 minutes through a Ferebory Dore header, but the Egyptians reacted well and managed to equalise before half time through Salah’s header.

The match was decided by a Abdallah Saied goal in the 58th minute to ensure all three points for Cuper’s Pharaohs.

The Argentinian coach will be counting on Salah’s fantastic form at the moment to make the difference against a tough Ghana team that ended the previous AFCON as runners-up after a penalty shootout defeat to Cote D’Ivoire.
