The South African rugby national team have lined up test matches against England and Wales for their end of season tour to the northern hemisphere in 2016, according to announcements made by those European rugby unions.

The Springboks have been a dominating force in London during recent years, and they will be looking to continue that trend when they return to Twickenham at the end of 2016 to take on the English, before making the trip to Cardiff for a match against the Welsh.

The announcement confirming these tests came from the Rugby Football Union of England and the Welsh Rugby Union respectively, both parties mentioning that they will be welcoming the Springboks next year in November.

South Africa and England will clash on Saturday November 12, 2016, with the Springboks looking to extend a solid record against the English with a sixth successive victory over their European rivals since November 2006.

The second announced test will feature Wales, who were defeated by the Springboks at the 2015 Rugby World Cup at the quarter-final stage. The match will take place on November 26, 2016 at the Principality Stadium, which was previously known as the Millennium Stadium.

Other test encounters are set to be added to the schedule for the Springboks’ tour of the northern hemisphere at the end of 2016, and will be made public in due course.

The Springboks will announce the appointment of a new coach in the coming weeks, as Heyneke Meyer recently quit the job.
