South African billionaire Dick Enthoven, co-owner of Nando’s and owner Stellenbosch wine estate Spier, has paid $12.77 US for a luxury waterfront home in Australia, Domain Group reported on Friday.

The five-bedroom property is situated on Wunulla Road, Point Piper, a small, affluent harborside suburb of Sydney.

The family home is made for resort-style living, boating and low-maintenance, indoor-outdoor entertaining all year round. It comes with boat shed and ramp, jetty, pool, cinema, elevator, alfresco terraces and full-length balconies capturing stunning views from four floors.

According to the property listing, the property is on Australia’s most prized peninsula with all the custom luxury one expects in an extravagant home of this quality.

Enthoven paid $5 million US a few years ago for another Australian property that will go on auction in December.

Enthoven got to know the Nando’s founders in the 1980s. Thanks to a loan he made to them, they could expand the restaurant chain in South Africa and later internationally. Today Nando’s is one of the most popular fast food chains in the U.K. with more than 1,000 restaurants worldwide.

Enthoven’s father, Robert, who is Dutch, started Hollard Insurance in 1980 and the Enthoven family retains the majority share. Hollard also has Australian insurance operations on which Enthoven has been focusing.

Enthoven’s Spier Wine Estate outside Stellenbosch is known for its sustainable farming and hospitality projects. Check out Spier here on an AFKTravel video.
