Andre Ayew Excited At Prospect Of Facing Brother Jordan

New Swansea City signing Andre Ayew is excited at the prospect of facing his brother Jordan Ayew in English Premier League action during the coming season, following his sibling’s move to Aston Villa this week.

Ghanaian midfielder Jordan Ayew signed a contract with the Villains on a long-term deal from French Ligue 1 side Lorient. The 23-year-old signed a five-year deal that will keep him at Villa Park until 2020.

He scored 12 goals and contributed seven assists during the recent French campaign, allowing the team to avoid relegation.

His older brother recently left French club Marseille to join Swansea City in the Premier League. The son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele refused to sign an extension to his contract with the Ligue 1 club, and he joined Swansea on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal.

With both brothers now playing in the EPL, they will have a chance to come face to face when their two clubs meet at Villa Park on October 24.

The more senior sibling spoke to the Birmingham Mail, revealing that he is excited to play against his brother in a league that they have both admired.

“It is a dream for both of us to have the opportunity to play in the Premier League,” Andre Ayew said.

“I had heard it was a possibility but I did not know if it was going to happen. But he (Jordan) is a good player and he will do good things and it will be exciting for sure if we get to play against each other,” he added.
